Check out this video of my siberian husky (lumi) doing a room search at a friends house.
I’m freaking out a little bit… Me and lumi are going to be in a competition with dogs that have been in training on average 6 months longer than me… yikes.
Its refreshing to see a dog trainer using positive, up to date techniques:

Things lumi did yesterday that she never had done before (in nosework):
1) Free search with only odor
this was soooooo fun to watch it looked like her nose was attached to a string the was being pulled around, almost against her will.
2) Chair Search
this was a little difficult for her but she got it quickly
3) Interior Search
So exciting! three scents in a room, lumi found all three and only had trouble with one.
After 6 hours of nosework we were both very exhausted!
im going swimming with the dogs again today! yay
What is with all of this theological nonsense stating “its too mysterious to understand therefore we shouldnt reason with it.”
first of all half the things people believe that of are actually quite simple(if they allowed it to be).
If its is so illusive that reason has no bearing on it then its not important enough to be reasoned with, in my oppinion.
most of the problem is the number one cause of believing something is not truth! its society and a sense of belonging. so, often, when one defends their beliefs theyre defending their group. then it becomes not a matter of truth but a matter of loyalty.
My nosework class was cancelled yesterday due to the fires
Lumi has just passed her (and my) first ORT (odor recognition test)!!! im very proud
AHHHH!!!! ORT on saturday. ill let you know if we pass it on sunday.
