“I have know the silence of the stars and of the sea,
And the silence of the city when it pauses,
And the silence of and man and a maid,
And the silence for which music alone finds the word,
And the silence of the woods before the winds of spring begin,
And the silence of the sick
When their eyes roam about the room.
And I ask: For the depths
Of what use is language?
A beast of the field moans a few times
When death takes its young:
And we are voiceluss in the presence of realities–
We cannot speak.”
thats verse one. any reactions?

Do you like parades? Which is your favorite?
you wrote: \”hmm, iv never seemed to come to an understanding of parades. i usually find them boring. im not sure y. tons of people seem to love them. perhaps u can explain the parade craze to me!\”
I grew up in a small town…I think that\’s the attraction for me. Parades were a time where everyone came out to support the local high-school or church float sort of thing. I\’ve never really been to a huge parade…like Mardi Gras…I don\’t think I would like such a big crowd…but I like the bringing together of community about parades…everyone gathered together to just have fun.

Why is it that I am compelled to be silent, but uncomfortable with it to the point I must speak?
I love the poem.
